Roberto Alonso Rejoins Bucaneros as Head Coach for 2024 Season

RINCÓN, PR—The Puerto Rico Collegiate Summer Baseball League (PRIBL) announced that veteran coach Roberto Alonso would return as head coach of the Bucaneros for the 2024 season. PRIBL President Carlos Nuñez praised Alonso's deep understanding of the league and his valuable contributions to the program.

"Roberto knows the league well and brings immense value to our program," said Nuñez. "His leadership and experience will greatly benefit the Bucaneros this season."

Alonso, who has over 35 years of coaching experience, expressed his excitement about his return. "I'm delighted to be back in Puerto Rico and to work again with PRIBL Baseball," Alonso stated. "I look forward to contributing to a successful season for the Bucaneros."

Alonso's background includes significant roles, including assitant coach at Coral Springs High School and pitching coach at Atlantis University. He previously coached in the PRIBL, where he was known for his innovative strategies and ability to mentor young players.

From 2011 to 2016, he was an assistant coach at Florida Memorial University and led various South Florida Collegiate League teams. His expertise in psychology and player development makes him well-suited to lead the Bucaneros.

Alonso's coaching focuses on motivating players and using statistical analysis to enhance their performance. His return is expected to boost the Bucaneros' performance in the upcoming season.
