Former PRIBL player to manage in the Mariners organization.

Rincón, PR – Willie Concepción, a former Puerto Rico Collegiate Summer Baseball League player, is now the DSL Seattle Mariners’ new manager. Concepcion played college baseball at the College of Staten Island, where he finished his degree in Developmental Psychology.

He most recently worked as director of international operations at “The Catching Camp” and spent time working in the Puerto Rico Instructional Baseball League.

Concepción was part of the first edition of the Puerto Rico Collegiate Summer Baseball League. After a successful season, he signed by to play professional baseball with the Puerto Rico Islanders.

“We are very proud of Willie,” said Carlos Nuñez, the president and founder of the Puerto Rico Collegiate Summer Baseball League. He is the type of person who works a lot on the psychological side, and I am sure he will take the best of his players to make them successful on the field.”

Concepción is already in the Dominican Republic, where he starts his first season as a professional manager.
