Conquistadores Name Michael Álvarez as 2026 Manager

Aguadilla, PR — The Puerto Rico Collegiate Summer Baseball League (PRCSBL) has announced the hiring of Michael Alvarez as the new manager of the Conquistadores for the 2026 season. Alvarez joins the league from Culver-Stockton College (NAIA), where he currently serves as an assistant coach while pursuing an MBA with a concentration in Artificial Intelligence, bringing a unique blend of leadership, analytics, and academic perspective.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Alvarez enjoyed a successful collegiate playing career with stops at Waubonsee Community College (NJCAA), the University of Hartford (NCAA Division I), and Quincy University (NCAA Division II). His experience across multiple competitive levels has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of the game — one he now aims to apply in the development of PRCSBL student-athletes.
“Michael represents the type of leadership we value in our league: passion for development, technical expertise, and a modern mindset. His connection to Puerto Rico and his academic background will bring tremendous value to our players,” said Carlos Núñez, President of the PRCSBL.
As a Graduate Assistant Coach, Alvarez has been actively involved in recruiting, offensive coordination, infield defense, scouting, and video analysis, demonstrating a broad technical foundation and a strong commitment to player growth. He also maintains family ties to Puerto Rico and currently coaches several players from the island — strengthening his cultural connection and motivation to contribute to Puerto Rican baseball development.
“I’m excited to join the Conquistadores and be part of the continued growth of collegiate baseball in Puerto Rico. My goal is to help every player develop, compete at a high level, and open new opportunities in their baseball careers,” said Alvarez.
With this appointment, Alvarez will immediately begin building a 24-man roster, focusing on discipline, talent, and exposure at the collegiate and professional levels. Players interested in joining the Conquistadores can contact the league at info@priblbaseball.com, using the subject line “Team Conquistadores” to ensure their inquiry is directed to the coaching staff.
The 2026 PRCSBL season will begin in June, featuring college players and recently graduated high school prospects from the United States, Puerto Rico, Latin America, the Caribbean, and other parts of the world who seek development and exposure opportunities with collegiate programs across the United States. With his arrival, the Conquistadores strengthen their commitment to developing and showcasing emerging baseball talent.
