Aguadilla to Host 2027 Puerto Rico Development Summer Baseball League
AGUADILLA, PUERTO RICO — The Puerto Rico Independent Baseball League (PRIBL) will return to Aguadilla for the 2027 Puerto Rico Development Summer Baseball League (PRDSBL), with Luis A. “Canena” Márquez Stadium once again serving as the home of the summer program, scheduled for June 22 through July 19, 2027.
Located on Puerto Rico’s northwest coast, Aguadilla will welcome high school and collegiate athletes for a summer of competitive baseball, structured player development, and preparation for the next stage of their careers.
Known for its expansive covered grandstand and distinctive architecture, Luis A. “Canena” Márquez Stadium will provide the setting for the league’s regular-season games, postseason competition, and player development activities. The venue will also serve as the central location for the program’s daily baseball operations.
The 2027 season will feature seven teams with 18 players per roster, accommodating a maximum of 126 participants. The wood-bat league will combine organized competition with a development-focused environment, allowing athletes to refine their skills, gain meaningful game experience, and prepare for the demands of higher-level baseball.
The program will begin with player arrivals and evaluations, followed by the Prospect On-Deck Showcase. The schedule will then transition into regular-season competition, culminating in postseason play in mid-July.
League competition will take place Monday through Saturday, with games scheduled at 9:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m., providing a consistent competitive schedule throughout the summer.
Beyond the field, participating athletes will have the opportunity to experience Puerto Rico’s rich baseball culture and the communities of the island’s western region. With player housing in nearby Rincón, the program will combine the competitive demands of summer baseball with the experience of living and training away from home.
For PRIBL, returning to Aguadilla reinforces its commitment to providing structured baseball development opportunities for athletes pursuing their goals at the collegiate level and beyond.
As preparations move forward for the 2027 season, Luis A. “Canena” Márquez Stadium is preparing to once again welcome aspiring baseball players from around the world, continuing Aguadilla’s role as a destination for competitive summer baseball and player development.
